Description
The Paperclip Chain Necklace is a modern classic: long, flat links that lie smoothly against the collarbone and catch the light with every movement. It is bold enough to wear alone with an open collar, yet fine enough to layer with a pendant or a shorter chain.
Each 3 mm link is made in solid 925 sterling silver and finished with a 2.5 micron layer of 18ct yellow gold. The necklace measures 42 cm with a 5 cm extender, so you can wear it close at the base of the neck or let it fall a little lower over a crew neck. A lobster clasp keeps it secure. Pair it with our Freshwater Pearl Pendant for an easy layered look that feels considered rather than busy.

Length guide: at 42 cm the chain sits just below the base of the neck on most people; at 47 cm it falls to the collarbone. When layering, leave around 3 - 5 cm between chains so they hang separately.
About gold vermeil: gold vermeil is a premium form of gold-plated sterling silver - our vermeil is a 2.5 micron layer of 18ct yellow gold over a solid 925 sterling silver base - a much thicker layer than standard gold plating. With everyday wear the gold layer can soften over time, most quickly where the piece rubs against skin, clothing or other jewellery; the care guide below helps it last.
Care: put your jewellery on last and take it off first - after perfume, lotion and hairspray, and before swimming, bathing, exercising or cleaning. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after wearing and store it in the Orevane pouch, away from other pieces, to prevent scratches. Do not use silver dips, abrasive polishes or ultrasonic cleaners on gold vermeil.

Put your jewellery on last and take it off first - after perfume, lotion and hairspray, and before swimming, bathing, exercise, cleaning or sleeping. Wipe pieces with a soft dry cloth after wearing and store each one in its Orevane pouch to prevent scratches. Gold vermeil (a 2.5 micron layer of 18ct gold over 925 sterling silver) can soften gradually with everyday wear - never use silver dips, abrasive polishes or ultrasonic cleaners on it. Solid sterling silver naturally darkens over time; a silver polishing cloth brings back the shine. Wipe freshwater pearls with a soft damp cloth and never soak them. Our jewellery contains small parts - keep it away from young children.
